OPEN POST: Field Trip to the 80s. The Year is Pop Culture 1985
Gather hookers. It is time for another field trip to a bygone era this time, and we are all getting in the Back To The Future Delorean and traveling to the era of towers of hair that rivaled Marie-Antoinette during her heyday when she had a head. There was the Brat Pack and Bruce Springsteen, chain restaurants were booming, fast food was a staple, Mexican Pizza made a big debut, and Miami Vice fashions were still rocking. Put on your best retro 85 outfits, fluff up the hair, and shove some shoulder pads in every shirt, jacket, and sweater you can find. Ignore politics because the fiend Reagan was still running loose, encouraged by his gal pal Maggie Thatcher. Live Aid happened, and the British were still a relevant force in music and MTV. There was pretty Princess Diana and Yuppies. I think some other stuff happened, but the Gen Xers probably have a story or two to share. Buckle up; hair gel is your friend, and so is hair spray, mousse, and whatever else can get you closer to God. I
