OPEN POST: The Mysterious Tale Of Peckerwood's Bernice And Betty Bear!

Cold-blooded murder? Innocent accident? Or something more? There are many creatures on the grounds of Peckerwood Manor, though none are more mysterious than sisters Bernice and Betty Bear. Bernice was born an entire two minutes before Betty, yet it's Betty whose always looked after Bernice, because, to be honest, Bernice is dumb as a rock a little naive.

Above is security cam footage, wherein Betty carefully put her arm around Bernice, since left to her own devices, Bernice would likely plop into the river, bump her noggin on a rock and die. Which is exactly what Betty soon after told Mama Babette - that Bernice fell into the river, bumped her noggin on a rock and died. And that's sad. Curiously, some have noted that the security footage was erased after Betty was recorded putting her arm around Bernice. But this was likely a mechanical malfunction.

Yet according to Bitchy Cat™ - Peckerwood Manor's scandalous feline gossip - it was Betty who surreptitiously erased the tape, since she was not, in fact, putting her arm around Bernice to protect her, but positioning the boneheaded unwitting Bernice just aside her, making it easy to push her into the river, after which she bumped her noggin on a rock and died. But this can't be true, can it? Yes, Betty no longer has to share Mama's affection or any of her delicious nuts, fruits, insects, bee larvae or fish. Though surely Betty is not the greedy, homicidal psychopath Bitchy Cat™ claims she is. As for the Manor's Stewed Squirrel™, he bore witness to Betty's and Bernice's fateful day at the river - it's the reason he took to drinking - but he's not talking. Not yet. That's a tale for another day.
