Singer Cassie's Explosive Accusations: Truths About Diddy and Why He Settled So Quickly

Once I made the decision to write for Peckerwood I promised myself I would try to be lighthearted about a lot of subjects, reveal some personal things relating to celebrities and use the inside stuff I learn from time to time to share with you. I thought it was the least I could offer our little corner of the world. Most of you I have known for 7 years, others less, and some are new, but one thing that holds true for me is how important certain stories are and how they can pull back the curtains on the world of entertainment where everything is not as it seems.

We see these people spit-shined and spun into cotton candy, but it is a world not built for the weak, sensitive, gullible, kind, trusting, very young, or those without street smarts. It can grind and chew people up and toss their mangled dreams and corpses into the gutters of LA and New York City, and the public forgets them as soon as their 10 minutes are up. 15 if they are lucky. I am one of those who learned the hard way, and that lesson changed me forever. Cassie's heart-wrenching experiences resonate with survivors of abuse and assault, and it is her in-depth descriptive language that exposes Diddy and the behavior he has gotten away with for decades.

The guy on the upper right is all of us.

Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, aka Cassie, has alleged that Diddy raped her, plied her with hard drugs, took over her life, sexually abused her, was involved in human trafficking, made her have sex with male prostitutes and filmed it, and blew up Kid Cudi's car in 2012. Kid Cudi has come out and corroborated Cassie's claim. What she says is stark, harrowing, and hard to digest. His treatment of her is so monstrous and hits a level of abuse that we don't usually hear about concerning celebrities, even though it happens. If this is what she has told the world, what has she kept back for legal reasons? I believe this is why it was settled so quickly. Cassie had a very strong case against a known unsavory character, and she was opening a garbage can of worms on other things about Sean Combs that he would rather stay buried.

At the Met Gala.

Cassie was born to an African American, Mexican, and West Indian mother and a Filipino father in New London, Connecticut; her attractive, exotic looks led her into a minor career in modeling, down the path to music, and straight to Diddy's Bad Boy Records. Poor Cassie was only 19, and he was nearly twice her age when they met. Unfortunately for her, she walked into the clutches of a disturbed and wretched creature. Cassie hadn't received the memo and was too young to know all of the things that had taken place in the '90s. She has the look he likes best-brown to light skin and Caucasian adjacent hair type most commonly seen on biracial or ethnic women. He saw prey; she probably saw her big chance to follow her dreams. Instead, she got an unnatural disaster that would rob her of her innocence and years of her life that should have been some of her best, along with agency over her own destiny. He is evil, and I believe every single accusation was just the tip of the iceberg. I say that with confidence because I know what kind of man he is. This is why I know what she says is the truth.

In the mid and late 90s, my older cousin, B, was an aspiring R&B singer; she and my other hip-hop-loving cousins would sneak me into clubs with fake IDs, adult outfits, and makeup. One night in 1996 - I know the year because Tupac died soon after I had seen him at Mecca - The Tunnel's Sunday hip hop night was DJ'ed by Grandmaster Flex. You couldn't miss him because he had his famous bandana tied around his head and a baseball shirt. I recall thinking how short he was. B's date knew Puffy, so he took us over to introduce her to him. B didn't try to be pushy or hand him a demo; she just wanted to meet him and maybe connect if at all possible. He was so nasty to her, looking her up and down, asking rude questions, being an asshole, making fun of her height; she's 6ft, and then he looked straight at me, took out a gun, and shot in the air. That guy had to know I was underage, and I still have no idea why he did that. He was very skinny, little, and was wearing these lifts that looked weird to my young eyes.

He is wearing lifts like I saw him wearing.
Here he is with JLo just to show how tiny
he is. Napoleon Complex on legs.

Everyone ran, and I remember being yanked hard by the arm because I couldn't stop staring at those glittery dark eyes, transfixed because I couldn't figure out why is Puffy staring at me so hard, and I was out of my wits and scared frozen. I thought that fool was going to shoot me in the back for some wild reason and was glad I had on combat boots so I could run fast, heart racing, and not get trampled. A few years later or so, he got in trouble for doing it again when he was dating Jennifer Lopez. That bullet could have shot someone upstairs or ricocheted, and he did it to scare/impress a teenager. It wasn't the last time I saw the psychopath.

Li'l Kim, who is Biggie's ex, was also part of his group Junior M.A.F.I.A.
Biggie and the Sean Puffy Combs.

Some people ooze malevolence and darkness, and he is one of those people. There are so many rumors about him being behind the shooting of Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls, because Biggie was poised to leave Diddy's Bad Boy Records since he realized the finances and contract was nearly criminal. He had begun to recognize he was being used for his persona, ideas, and talent while Puffy/Diddy was raking in the money.

Misa Hylton, Baby Mama #1 from the 90s.

Diddy was there, in L. A., during the shooting and survived, but the rumors have never gone away. A witness said that Biggie's bodyguards didn't protect him and that previously, Diddy had been offering thousands if someone would kill Biggie. It was absolutely an inside job. It is also alleged that Biggie had a deal worth 62 million in the works with another record label and would be taking his discoveries with him before he was murdered. Similarly, roads leading back to Diddy involved Tupac as well. The man who has been saying it for years, described as the shot-caller Duane “Keffe D” Davis, was recently arrested for Tupac's murder. However, he is far from the only insider who has claimed this.

Biggie and Tupac were senselessly murdered for what some say
was purely money, and fingers pointed in one direction.

Maybe Diddy took the opportunity to use the West Coast vs. East Coast rap beef that had escalated to threats and fights to do something horrific, said the whispers. This was back when he was Sean Puffy Combs (one of his many names); Biggie, Mase, and Craig Mack were really the foundation of his label, but beyond no shadow of a doubt, Biggie was the one who blew up internationally. Puffy had been riding his coattails trying to be a rapper in his own right; though his flow was garbage, he still had hits and exploited and continues to exploit Biggie's murder. Christopher Wallace's mother has said as much publicly.

Diddy and Baby Mama Sarah Chapman. She lasted a few scant years
before taking a hike with the child. He likes to have highly publicized
relationships so everyone can see him parading around with his latest.

Another persistent rumor, with witnesses that have been going through the hip-hop community since the '90s, is that he is at least Bi, if not closeted, and it was confirmed by an ex-rapper on his label and so many others it is hard to count. Nothing would be wrong with that, but it would have been a career killer in the 90s in the hip-hop game if it became public. Azaelia Banks (I know, but sometimes she tells the truth) calls him a "violent homosexual".  If you aren't familiar with the hip-hop community on a deep level, you may not know that there is a large number of closeted or bisexual men in the scene who keep that far from the public eye. There are receipts from people who have no reason to admit it or say it with a puzzle piece here and a piece there. Including, hosting all male secret parties.  Also, he allegedly made up-and-coming male and female rappers and singers practically fork over their souls and bodies to become stars. That is only if he deigned to follow through with his promise. His misogyny is nearly legendary, as is his behavior as a  controlling, thieving dictator with no moral compass or remorse.

Kim Porter and Diddy

There are so many sinister swirling hot takes. I couldn't possibly fit them all in; what is particularly sad is that when his ex, Kim Porter, and mother of three of his children died of pneumonia, many people, including her ex-husband, Al B. Sure!, pointed the finger at Combs. Their relationship had been fraught with domestic violence, but Kim stayed until she couldn't take him anymore or their off-and-on relationship. It has been flying around that she had been writing an explosive memoir, and of course, questions are now returning to her very sudden death, the cryptic things she said to Al in the weeks prior to her death. It may sound outrageous to allege these things, but it isn't. These are the things that started resurfacing after Callie made her allegations and why he folded quickly. It was emboldening people to come out of the woodwork to ask for answers about other suspicious things surrounding him.

Danity Kane was suddenly dumped without being paid correctly. Aubrey alleges he wanted other things that she wouldn't go along with, and he fired her.

During the heyday of Bad Boy, which was certainly the '90s, by the 2000s, his artist roster dwindled as they fled from him, and his cruelty and megalomania. But in the 2000s, he had a few artists on his roster, but Bad Boy was riding off the fumes of former glory. The same old stories about money and never paying his artists followed him. Aubrey O'Day from Danity Kane said they had made 48 million dollars and never saw a dime, and I believe her, too. I could write a book about all of the connections and how it all comes back to him, but I won't go too far into the weeds. The last thing I will say is that Diddy was also behind torpedoing the careers of female rappers and singers who said "No!" to him. According to Aubrey, she was fired for not succumbing to his will, which was pretty much the end of her singing career, whether she readily recognizes it or not.

Dana Tran, his last Baby Mama. Girl, love yourself more.

My next run-ins with him were clichés, and in one instance, I gave out a fake phone number to one of his "boys" and stopped going to hip-hop clubs in New York or talent shows showcasing up-and-coming black music. I didn't want to see him again, and I certainly wasn't going to do another ridiculous music video that I am so ashamed of that I try to think it doesn't exist. Sometimes, it is funny, but sometimes, it reminds me of how stupid and young I once was. What was an indie guitar player doing in that world anyway? Shaking my ass was not in the game plan. My real music career ended abruptly because of violence, and that is why I wrote this story. It hit me in the soul and brought all of those memories back. I knew she was talking about her stark experiences, and I wished I could tell her how many knew she was speaking the truth. I had wondered what happened to her and why Cassie's music never took off like it was supposed to. As often in music, whether it is Scooter Braun, Jay Z, Diddy, or some other power-hungry individual, they use their power to hurt and destroy. "Just Say No" or "No is No" doesn't work, and there was no #MeToo back then.

The story is that Diddy, to prove how much control he had over her,
took his lackey to where she was and demanded she she shave half her head
the lackey was surprised when he saw that she had obeyed. It wasn't a fashion moment but a symbol of his control.

It is no secret how crooked the music industry has always been with its association with untrustworthy and unsavory characters from the mafia, and gangsters. Suge Knight, the West Coast mogul behind many of the gangsta rappers and music coming from California at that time (on his label Death Row), was gang affiliated as most of the rappers from LA also were. Red or Blue. Crips or Bloods. He's serving a 28-year term for a 2015 fatal hit and run, but his time card should have been punched much earlier. Diddy and Suge loathed each other because they were mirror images of one another but thousands of miles apart. For decades, everyone thought Suge Knight killed Tupac and Biggie, but there have always been those closer to the source who had always said it was Diddy. One day, I sincerely hope his history of violence, assault, rape, and threats come back and bite him so hard that he spends the rest of his wretched life in prison.

The happy ending in all of this is Cassie, now 37 went on to marry 30-year-old Alex Fine, who had been hired by Diddy as his and Cassie's personal trainer. Over time, she opened up to him, feelings blossomed, and it gave her the courage to leave Diddy for good in 2018, the same year Kim Porter passed away. Two overlapping relationships with women he never deserved ended very differently. For Kim, it ended in tragedy; for Cassie, it ended in triumph...and two very ethnically/racially diverse gorgeous babies.

Cassie is happy at last!

Cassie, Alex, and (African American, Filipino, Mexican, West Indian, White) Beautiful baby.

Happy with both sweet little girls.
