EVENING NIGHTCAP: Britney Blowing Her Fortune? Mike Myers Joins Silver Fox Club. Johnny Depp Or A Bad Wax Statue?

► Insiders are whispering that 3 years since Britney Spears convservatorship ended, she is blowing through her $60 million fortune like a pissed off teenager who stole their parents credit card. Even Jessica Simpson has chimed in on the issue during an impromptu interview with reporters (read about it). Jessica said it's easy to lose a fortune if a person isn't careful and offered a couple of pieces of advice for Ms. Cheetos.  Britney's lavish spending since her conservatorship ended includes multiple expensive vacations to the Brando Resort in French Polynesia at $1million per trip including using a private jet. She also has spent $350,000 at the Four Seasons Presidential Suite in Hawaii on multiple occasions (no word if she visited her estranged 2 grown sons who now live there). She has also spent $4 million in legals fees that includes settling her conservatorship fight with her dad. He supposedly received no money in the settlement. Only his legals fees were paid. According to reports regarding Britney's spending: Read More

“She has no concept of money,” one insider says. “For over a decade, other people were in charge of her bank accounts, and every purchase had to be reported to the court — even if it was just a pack of gum. But now, she’s on her own.” Others are concerned about the state of her mental health with a third source noting, “She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her. She’s not protected anymore.”

Comment: Britney (42) is not generating income since she no longer tours or records.  The "Free Britney" aholes who pushed to end the conservatorship seem to be washing their hands of what is happening to her. A lot of people wonder about the state of her finances during the conservatorship. The reality is, when she was under it, expenses were overseen by attorneys on both sides AND a judge who had to approve every single thing. It's sad to see Britney unraveling and blowing through her money now that there are no safety guards to protect her. I have a message for the "Free Britney" morons: happy now?

►At the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement gala to honor Nicole Kidman, Mike Myers made a quite a stir with his dashing appearance. Mike hasn't been seen in public for over a year and he's notoriously private. Mike showed up sporting an awesome buzz cut, silver fox hair, and looking like he's aging gracefully. He looks waaay better now than a few years ago.  Read More

Comment: I still laugh at old SNL skits with Mike Myers from waaaay back when. One of my favorite skits was "Coffee Talk".  Oh, and Wayne's World. I'm not a huge fan of his movies. Austin Powers was okay, it had its funny moments. Anyhoo, I have to give him credit for aging gracefully unlike 99.9% of Hollywood. Good for you Mike!

► Looking like he belongs in a wax museum next to a box of half-used birthday candles in my junk drawer, Johnny Depp debuted his new role as France's King Louis XV in the French movie, "Jean Dingleberry" "Jeanne du Barry". Johnny's career has been in limbo since his divorce and civil trial with ex-wife Amber Heard. The new movie is described as, "a subtitled combination of "Napoleon" and "Pretty Woman". Huh? Here's my creative spin of the plot: Depp is shuffling around dressed as Napoleon. He meets a French courtesan who dreams of shopping at Avenue des Champs-Élysées. She visits an 18th century hat shop and is given the stink eye by a snooty store clerk. Later, she returns and tells the clerk "You work on commission? Mal comprendre! Big mistake!" Okay, back to reality.  If you're not into French history, here's a quick lesson about King Louis and Jean:  King Louis XV had an affair with Jeanne du Barry. It was a HUGE escandalo. Anyhoo, the movie opens tomorrow and will only be in theaters for 5 days. It will then be kicked to Apple TV+ at a later date. Read More

Comment: Um, Johnny Depp speaking French in a "Napoleon meets Pretty Woman" period piece isn't how I want to waste 2 hours of my life. No thanks, hard pass.
