► Another slooow news day. I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for something interesting and discovered an award show that I had no clue existed. The Gotham Awards proves my point that there's an award show for anything. So what are the Gotham Awards? I thought it was for plebs to show off their skills with a glue gun and spandex and compete for Best Batman Costume. The Gotham Awards are for independent film makers. And no, the video of your cat playing in a paper bag while doing long division does not qualify as an "indie film" even though it's probably more entertaining than the movies nominated. Anyhoo, because the official award season is around the corner, a slew of has-beens, wanna-bees, and thirsty hos that will attend anything were there. Below are a few of the fashuuuun highlights. Comment: Sashaying out of the gate looking like a long lost cousin of the Tater Head clan is 1980's brat pack darling Molly Ringwald. Molly is giving the paps her best "I just sucked on a lemon" pucker while wearing a cutout dress from the clearance rack at a defunct Casual Corner. Then there's Julia Stiles who looks NOTHING like herself. I have no idea what she's done to her face but whatever it is she needs to stop it...and ask for a refund. BTW, I don't like that pointy thing sticking out of her dress unless she's using it to gouge out someone's eye in hopes they don't recognize her new "look". Next, we have Justice Smith (who??). I can't figure out his green velvet ensemble. He resembles a piece of spinach stuck between the teeth of the Jolly Green Giant. Shailene Woodley outfit is business on top and slutty private school girl on the bottom. Emily Mortimer (another who??) dressed like a wedding gift from Bed Bath & Beyond. And last but not least is Saoirse Ronan. She had a pretty dress until she thought it was a good idea to have a run-in with a dirty window and wear broken glass shards as an outfit.

► If you're a fan of being organized and having containers for everything, then you will be bummed out that the Container Store is circling the drain. The company is facing bankruptcy unless it has one helluva good holiday season this year. At the rate things are going for them, not even Marie Kondo riding on a unicorn while wielding a label maker will save them. The company has been in trouble for a while now since people don't want to pay for quality. The average person prefers to buy cheap crap. Or in my case, use the plastic containers from butter, cream cheese, take-out, or whatever else is around for my storage solutions. Read More

I haven't been to a Container Store in years. To me, it's too "waspy" for my storate needs. I recall their stuff
being really pricey. Call me a cheapass but I don't need a $75 shower
caddy or $120 laundry tote.
