EVENING NIGHTCAP: Political Ambitions For Paris? Lights Out For Party City. It's William & Kate's Turn.

 

► Queen Valtrex (Govt Name: Paris Hilton) faded into obscurity for several years, which was a HUGE relief. After years of partying, arrest, snobby privileged attitude, racist and homophobic slurs, and all around crass entitled behavior, she received a long overdue social flushing. Then, a few years ago she crawled out from under her gilded rock and has been on a mission to revamp her image as a goody too-shoes and patron saint of Beverly Hills. She began her image makeover by anointing herself as a champion of children social causes. A few months ago, she took an interest in a bill at a committee in the US House of Representatives to address residential treatment facilities for youths. “After coming here (to Washington, DC) so many times over the past couple of years and seeing that my voice really can make a difference, and I can really shine a spotlight on things that are important around the world to make it a better place and safer for children, I can maybe see that happening,” Hilton said when asked by a journalist if her future might include seeking elected office. “This is just the beginning. There’s definitely more to do. I will be coming back to (Washington) D.C.,” she said.

Comment:  The above photo says it all.  I'm not buying her "I'm here to save the youth" self-serving platform. IMO, it's all a ruse to convince people she's changed. I hope that today's kids realize Paris is only doing this to chase fame (again). I also want advertisers stop giving her attention. Her reinvention game is as fake as her hair extensions and blue contact lenses.

 

► After 40 years in business, it's lights out for Party City. HQ employees found out this past Friday when they were told it was their last day of employment. To further pop their balloon, the CEO told them they're not receiving any severance; and benefits would stop immediately (i.e. medical insurance). After the announcement, they were ordered to go home immediately. They were given a few minutes to gather their personal belonging before the doors were locked like a bouncer kicking everyone out of a club. What a shitty thing to do days before Christmas. The company is ceasing all operations and has started liquidating inventory at all stores. Unlike HQ employees, store workers will be paid thru February 28, which will be last day of store operations.  Party City has 700 stores and 12,000 employees.  Read More

Comment:  I would not be surprised if the CEO & executive team receive a going out of business bonus while everyone else is getting screwed. On a separate note, I gotta wonder: Where will celebs and RHO____(fill in the blank) now buy their ratty wigs?

 

► Prince Willy and Princess Catherine shared the family's holiday card. It's actually an e-card they uploaded on social media. That's why the image below shows what's supposed to be floating snowflakes. I think. Or maybe it's fairy lights? Anyhoo, the family look like they're posing in an ad for The Gap. The photo was taken over the summer, at the same time Princess Cat filmed the health update video. It showed her strolling through the woods like she was playing Pokemon Go.  Read More

Comment: The card is simple and understated. It doesn't brag about their titles, status nor does it blast you with a collage of photos trying to sell an image (looking at you Temu Edward and Walmart Wallis). It captures a happy moment with the kiddos. IMO, it's nicely done. That's my say something nice for the day.
