EVENING NIGHTCAP: More Celeb Couples Uncoupling. Has The Implosion of FB & IG Begun?

 

► Celebrity breakup season continues. Throwing in the towel on their 10 year marriage are Jessica Simpson (44) and former NFL player, Eric Johson (45).  Internet sleuths have been speculating these 2 were headed for a special edition of Divorce Court when Eric was spotted back in November without his wedding ring. Coincidentally, this was around the time that Jessica announced she was making "new music" and shared a weird-ass photo of herself dressed like slutty goth meets an IG filter she didn't like.  "Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage," Simpson said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Comment:  I haven't kept up with these two so I have no idea what's been going on or the theories about whatever the "painful situation" is that she's referring to. I do have to wonder...why does she resemble Tori Spelling below?

► Another celebrity couple joining the breakup trash heap are Brandon Routh (45, of Superman, Arrow) and Courtney Ford (46, of Dexter, True Blood).  They dated for 4 years before they got married in 2007. The couple have one son. Courtney filed for divorce and checked the "irreconcilable differences" box. I wish the form had more options. Irreconcilable differences is so vague. It can mean anything from he kept the toilet seat up after being told 10,000 times not to do it, to she cuts her toenails in bed and I'm fed up.  Comment: I had no idea these 2 were married for 17 years. By Hollywood standards, that is a long time. I really don't know much about them other than he looks like a glam GQ Eddie Munster and she reminds me of Olivia Wilde

►Zuckerberg is getting a long overdue tongue lashing from just about everyone these days. FB and IG, who are owned by MAGA Meta Platforms, is planning to lay off 5% (or 3,600) of its total 72,000 workforce this year. He's implementing a no f**ks given policy about employees who don't meet his performance standards...or something like that. Zuckerberg said the company faces an "intense" year ahead. Yea, no shit. It's not even a month into 2025 and Zuckerberg is taking a blowtorch to the company and what little credibility he had. He's ending all fact checking efforts for FB and IG, named UFC and MAGA bootlicker Dana White to the company's board of directors, he slithered down to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ass of the Felon In Chief, and went on Joe Rogan's podcast to gargle out that companies need, "more masculine energy" or some bullshit like that.  Read More

Comment:  I got rid of FB and Twitter years ago. I read somewhere that FB has been losing subscribers especially those under the age of 35. I don't know anyone in my orbit who uses FB anymore. I have a few friends who use FB Marketplace, but that's it. IMO, Zuckerberg has desperately tried (and failed) to be a cool "tech bro". He's nothing but a narcissistic ahole who is deeply flawed and seems to have serious issues with women. That's how FB was started - to rate women. He'll fit right in with MAGA. He and his pubic hair looking perm can piss off.
