OPEN POST: The Trial of the Stolen Gold Toilet!

Wayyyy back in 2019, a solid gold toilet was stolen from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, UK. The commode was a piece of artwork called "America" by conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan and was plumbed and fully functioning as part of an art exhibit. It weighed 98kg and was insured for over $6 million. Five men have been accused of the 2019 raid whereby they allegedly smashed into the palace and stole the toilet within five short minutes.

The toilet has never been recovered and is believed to have been broken down and sold. Court proceedings are taking place now, where photo and text evidence shows communication among the five men who cased the exhibit and arranged for sales of the gold after the deed was done. The defendants have all plead not guilty.
