EVENING NIGHTCAP: YG3 + A Script Idea= GOLD! Bye-Buh Forever 21.

► It's been almost 40 years since Young Buns Guns made its big screen debut. It ushered the era of studly 1980s  mall rats dashing to Thom McKan's to buy cowboy boots and Miller's Outpost for Wranglers. Well, if you were wondering when Hollywood would get around to dusting off the cobwebs from the YG franchise, the wait is over.  Emilio Estevez (who portrayed Bill The Kid) announced that YG3: Dead Or Alive is in the works. Emilio was visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico for a Film & Media Day and yapped about the original movie and the sequel being filmed in the state. He then announced YG3 was in the works. Emilio mentioned that Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater (who was in the sequel) have cleared their day timers of dinner theater commitments at Old County Buffets and are ready to don their chaps and spurs. Emilio mentioned  he will be directing and co-writing the script. While he didn't give details about the plot or when filming will begin, he did say, "some work has already begun". Okay Emilio...having Lou and Christian clear their calendars doesn't count as "some work has begun". Read More

Comment: I don't care for westerns but the original Young Guns (1988) was entertaining. In addition to Emilio and Lou, it starred Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Dermot Mulroney, Casey Siemaszko, and Terrance Stamp. The sequel, which came out in1990, sucked. Anyheehaw, the title of YG3 gives me an idea: the movie should be a western-themed "are they dead or alive" game of celebs has-been. The winner receives one of JLo's engagement rings. Here's a sample: Joe Millionaire- dead or alive? Zach Galligan? Chad Michael Murray? Rachel Bilson? The entire cast of Entourage? What about Casey Siemaszko who was in Young Guns 1? What happened to that dude? According to IMBD, he hasn't been seen since 2018.

► Peddler of junk fast fashion, Forever 21, is calling it quits. It's the company's 2nd time filing for bankruptcy but this time it's for real 'yall. They're done with their on again/off again relationship shoppers. In the breakup letter with America, they said they're shutting down all USA stores and   ordered them to sell off whatever rags are left including store fixtures. A mannequin for the company mimed this statement:  Read More

"The operator of Forever 21's U.S. unit said Sunday that foreign competition from fast-fashion rivals, rising costs, economic challenges and evolving consumer trends were to blame. For the time being, stores and the company's U.S. website will remain open as the company starts winding down operations and seeks a last-minute bidder for its assets."

Comment:  I've never been inside a Forever 21. I have this image of the stores being the equivalent of a tacky, gum smacking teenager who fancies themself as a Sabrina Carpenter wannabe to Filene's Basement who is the scatterbrained middle age drunk ho that shows up to a party 2 hours late with a bottle of cold duck and a box of Ritz crackers.
