EVENING NIGHTCAP: Midlife Crisis: Brad Pitt Edition. Spaceballs Sequel Casting.
► If stale Bread Pitt's (61) recent wardrobe is any indication, he's in the throngs of a midlife crisis. That, or he's taking fashion advice from the Katie Holmes, the grand dame bad dressing. Over the weekend, stale Bread debuted a velvet meets denim nightmare that probably cost more than a college degree. His choice of outfit for a date night was a combination of lounge lizard at a seedy Howard Johnson meets Miller's Outpost BOGO sale. Brad is turning into a modern-day version of Mr. Roper from the 1970's show Three's Company. In addition to his velvet-denim medley, Stale Bread showed off a tie-dye mess that wished it could wake up from a bad LSD trip. Read More
Comment: The Pitt stain has been making the media rounds to promote his ego pet project, the F1 movie. From the trailer, it's Top Gun meets Days of Thunder. Anyhoo, someone needs to tell him to stop flipping through the pages of a 1974 Sears catalog for wardrobe tips. Then again, don't tell him. Let him keep embarrassing himself. It's comedy gold. This Robert Redford wannabe is checking all the boxes of a midlife crisis cliche: young girlfriend: check. Mentally regressing: check. Shitty wardrobe: check. Ditching his kids: check.

► The internet is buzzing ever since the announcement of a sequel to the 1987 comedy hit, Spaceballs, was made. The word on the street is that Lewis Pullman, son of Bill Pullman, is in talks to star as "Starburst", the son of Lone Starr (played by Bill Pullman) and Queen Vespa (played by Daphne Zuniga). It's rumored most of the original cast are returning, including Mel Brooks (98) who will probably reprise his role as Yogurt, a hilarious rip of Yoda. Details about the plot are being kept secret. Here's my wish: I hope it spoofs Madalorian meets Star Wars Phantom Menace with a sprinkle of Jurassic Park. The Spaceballs sequel is scheduled for 2027 release. Read More

Comment: My favorite character in Spaceballs was Barf, played by the late John Candy. I really miss him as an actor. Not only was he a top notch comic, his timing and physical comedy was spot on in all his roles. Anyway, its been almost 40 years since Spaceballs came out. I hope the sequel does justice to it. I hate to see a beloved movie turned into a sad, cheap money grab.
