Prequel to Pet Sematary coming October 6

The prequel to Pet Sematary, "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines" will premier on October 6 on Paramount +.  If you're not familiar with Pet Sematary, it's a book by Stephen King that was made into a movie in 1989. I liked the movie. It's about an ancient burial ground that brings back the dead but not in the way they were. The dead come back as evil. In the original movie, the family's cat is killed so the dad buries it at the Pet Sematary. The cat comes back as a mangy, pissed off feline with a bad case of fuckuitis. Then, an unfortunate accident kills the family's kid and the dad buries him in the Pet Sematary. The kid comes back as evil incarnate dressed in Charles Dickens haute couture.

As mentioned, the original movie came out in 1989 and featured Fred Gwynne (aka Fred Munster of The Munsters) as Jud Crandall. Jud knows the secrets of Pet Sematary. A sequel was made in 1992 with Edward Furlong (of Terminator 2). I'll save you the trouble...the sequel sucked. A reboot of the original Pet Sematary was made in 2019 with John Lithgow. I had no idea they rebooted the original.

Anyway, the prequel takes place in 1969. A young Jud and his friends discover the secrets behind Pet Sematary. I hope it includes why it's misspelled as Sematary and not Cemetery. You'd think that proper spelling would be #1 priority for evil forces.

Paramount + released a few photos of the upcoming prequel. To me, the photos/movie look like outtakes from Children of the Corn, Cujo, and a 1990's Halloween goth party. If you're planning to watch it let me know. I'm too cheap to subscribe to Paramount+.

BTW: does anyone see the irony about all this? Hollywood has made a prequel, sequel, and reboot of Pet Sematary. Did Hollywood bury the original 1989 movie in an ancient studio burial ground as their way to keep resurrecting it?
