EVENING NIGHTCAP: Jann Wenner gets kicked out (ha ha!). Celebrity auction = HILARIOUS memes! Bob Ross up for sale.

We're starting the week with good news. That rarely happens. We have an egotistical ahole get kicked out of the board room (it should have happened a long time). Meanwhile, break out your debit card because a painting by Bob Ross is up for sale. And a celebrity auction results in some of the funniest memes I've seen in a while.

Let's get started.

►Jann Wenner has been kicked out of the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame board of directors for saying stupid shit. Yea, I know...what else is new with this crustacean. The comments were made during an interview to promote his new book, The Masters. It includes past interviews with influential musicians such as John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, and other white men.  People noticed that Wenner didn't include any women or Black artists.  When asked about it, he said, "“It’s not that they’re inarticulate, although, go have a deep conversation with Grace Slick or Janis Joplin. Please, be my guest. You know, Joni (Mitchell) was not a philosopher of rock ’n’ roll. She didn’t, in my mind, meet that test.  Of Black artists — you know, Stevie Wonder, genius, right? I suppose when you use a word as broad as ‘masters,’ the fault is using that word. Maybe Marvin Gaye, or Curtis Mayfield? I mean, they just didn’t articulate at that level.” JFC, what a jackass. Comment:  If you're not familiar with Jann Wenner he was the founder of Rolling Stone magazine, ex-owner of Men's Journal, and founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. By not including women or Black artists who influenced the music industry in his book, it tells you what a steaming pile of shit he is. Guess this clod has never heard of Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Debbie Harry, Patti Smith, Carol King, and too many others to list.  Hey Jann...Grace Slick and I have a message for you:

►  Do you enjoy happy little trees and a babbling brook in a meadow? Then grab your debit or credit card cause here is your chance to own a Bob Ross original. The first painting he made on the very first episode of his show, Joy of Painting, is going on sale for $9.8 million. The painting is titled, "A Walk in the Woods" and was painted in 1983.  Read More

Comment: I think it would look better if he had painted it on a black velvet canvas. And included some dogs playing poker. Oooh...and a matador in the background. But that's me.

► A group of celebrities have come together as a fundraiser for the SGA-WGA stirkers healthcare fund. The celebs will auction either their services or stuff they want to get rid off.  For $3,000 Lena Dunham will paint a mural in your home - but you have to live in NYC, Los Angeles, or London. Um, can I pay $30 and dump a can of paint over her head and kick her out of my house? For $2,132 Natasha Lyonne will spend 15 minutes with you on a Zoom call to help you do the NY Times crossword puzzle.  If you prefer to play "20 questions", Maggie Gyllenhaal is offering 20 minutes and 20 questions for $590.  Other celebs involved include David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Adam Scott, Donald Glover, and Sarah Silverman. The auction ends September 22. Read More

Comment: The internet is having a field day with this. Many are saying these celebs can easily afford to make a donation. I'm not going to rip on them too much.  At least they're making an effort to help the strikers- even if it's lame. Except for Lena. She deserves to be dragged for any reason. Below are some of the parody memes. Now if these were a real auction...I would seriously consider bidding.
