EVENING NIGHTCAP: Chris Brown Is At It Again. Girl with Dragon Tattoo Getting A TV Series. Billie Lourd Has Every Right To Be Pissed. TV Shows Get Cancelled.
I ended up cleaning out my gutters and raking leaves this weekend. My muck from my gutters is a good way to kick off today's parade of manure. We have Chris Brown doing what he does best: being a shit bag. Joining him is James Blunt who can add clueless asswipe to his résumé. Let's get started.
► The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is getting the streaming TV series treatment. The project is currently under development at Amazon / MGM Studios. They have signed up Veena Sud to head up the creation of it. Details about who will star in the role of Lisbeth Salander or the general plot of the series are being kept hush-hush. IMO this is code for "we don't have a damn clue what we're doing". Read More

Comment: Well it was bound to happen. These days, it seems like everything is turning into a TV series . Let's hope Amazon does a better job with it than their attempt at the Lord of the Rings TV series. That colossal $1 billion dollar mess (what it cost to produce) was universally criticized and a flop with viewers (and they're making a season 2...go figure).
► Speaking of TV: Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole series have been cancelled after one season. Fatal Attraction series, which starred Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan, was based on the 1987 movie. Rabbit Hole was an espionage thriller starring Keifer Sutherland. Rabbit Hole sounds like a poor man's version of his 24 series. Read More

Comment: There's never a shortage of stupid, bad ideas from Hollywood. Making a TV series out of a movie that was released 35+ years ago was doomed to fail. The plot of this turd was laughable and insulting to the original movie. It followed the release of Dan Gallagher who spent 15 years in prison for the wrongful killing of Alex Forrest, the psycho he had a fling with. In the original movie, Alex committed suicide (IMO, the perfect ending). I can't figure out why Hollywood thought it needed to make a TV series and ruin things.
► POS, Satan's hangnail, and rage-a-holic Chris Brown is in legal trouble...again. This time he's being sued for allegedly beating up a man at a London nightclub. The incident happened back in February. The lawsuit was filed late last week. It states that Chris hit the victim on the face with a bottle knocking him unconscious and then he continued to beat the man causing serious injuries. There's supposedly camera footage that captured the incident. Read More

Comment: Chris has been involved in a lot of legal trouble, so much so that he's on a first-name basis with the courts. From his 2009 arrest for beating up Rhianna; to breaking a man's nose in Washington DC; getting in to a brawl with Tony Parker; trashing backstage rooms; punching Frank Ocean over a parking space; a sexual abuse case that was settled out of court; and getting into a fight with Usher - these are some of highlights of his shitty behavior. It's clear that Chris is a menace to society. Yet the legal system just slaps his hand; music industry execs turn a blind eye and shrug it off; and his followers mindlessly excuse his behavior.
► Singer and songwriter James Blunt, a long time close friend of the late Carrie Fisher, says that her daughter Billie Lourd partially blames him for her death. In his recently released memoir, James said that instead of confronting Carrie about her drug abuse he opted to join her in doing drugs instead. James was with Carrie a few days before she died. An autopsy reveled that Carrie had used cocaine in the days prior to her death and that she had heroin, MDMA and methadone in her system. In his memoir, James wrote: Read More
“Charlie, her best friend, confronted her more directly and told her she needed to quit drugs… I took a different approach and did them with her, pretending to myself that I would guide her to redemption one day—just not today,” Blunt wrote. As a result, her—daughter Billie blames me in part for her death, and no longer speaks to me.”

Comment: Billie has every right to be pissed. If one of your best friends is an addict and is struggling to stay sober, you don't do drugs with them hoping that "you can guide them to redemption later" - whatever that is. You confront the person and get them help. You call their family or their doctor. JFC what a clueless shit bag James turned out to be. I don't blame Billie for writing off this moronic wanker out of her life.
