OPEN POST: Riverdale Road
If you've ever clicked on one of those listicles about urban myths from different US states, no doubt you've heard about...RIVERDALE ROAD...in Colorado near Denver.

There's all sorts of legends about this actually quite lovely and scenic road. Jogger ghost, burned down mansion, portals to hell, etc. The usual. You can read more in this 9news article.
If you do read the article, the quote from the local law enforcement about the lack of verification for any of these stories will, maybe, stand out to you. Want to know why?
Because it's not haunted. I don't care what the so-called ghost hunter says in the article. This all started from an acquaintance of mine being an idiot.
The Satanic Panic that started in the 80s was still well underway in the mid 90s, when said acquaintance and a friend decided to scare their girlfriends by painting satanic symbols all over an abandoned barn and chicken coop and then bringing their girlfriends out there. Eventually, it ended up on the local news, and ever since the legend has grown.
The scariest thing about Riverdale Road is it's dark and curvy, and makes it pretty easy to get into a car accident if you're not used to driving it. So if you're touristing in that area, I recommend going during the day. Not because ghosts, but because curves.
