► Canadian TV producer, creator, and writer Marty Krofft has died. He was 86. The cause of death was kidney failure.  Marty and his brother Sid (who's still alive) created memorable fantasy TV shows from the 1970s including H.R. Pufnstuff, Land of the Lost, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. They were known as the Kings of Saturday mornings. Other shows the duo produced included Brady Bunch Hour (a spin off of the Brady Bunch original show), Donny & Marie Show, and Barbara Mandrell & The Mandrell Sisters, which was a musical and skit show.  Marty is survived by his brothers Sid and Harry; and two daughters.  Read More

Comment:  I was a a little tatertot when H.R. Pufnstuf was a Saturday morning staple. I watched Land of the Lost. It was super cheezy but that's what made it likeable. Thank you for brightening kids' Saturday mornings and sharing your talents. Condolences to his family. 

► Eric McCormack's wife, Janet Holden, is tossing their marriage in the wood chipper. Eric is best known from the show Will & Grace. The couple was married for 26 years. In the filing, she checked the "irreconcilable differences" box. They have a 21 year old son who has stayed out of the spotlight. Is it me or does it seem lately more and more older couples who have been married forever are fed up with each other and splitting?  Read More

Comment: The couple met on the set of Lonesome Dove way back when. Being married for 26 years is a long-ass time in Hollywood. Thus far, no uncoupling drama between them - at least not yet. Maybe Eric (who's 60 years old), Meryl Streep (74), and Hugh Jackman (55) can start a support group of older actors married forever who are divorcing.  

► In today's "Oprah, who dis?"  Beyonce debuted a new exterior at the premier of her Renaissance world tour concert film. Beyonce spared no expense by donning haute couture from the Reynolds Aluminum Foil collection and a blonde wig made from horsetail some poor horse is going to miss terribly. But the biggest WTF was her face / appearance. Beyonce is in a state of metamorphosis of slutty Elsa from Frozen and an albino Jessica Rabbit.  Read More

Comment: Well, I guess Beyonce's transformation into a white woman is complete. For comparison, this is what she looked like a mere 4 years ago.

• Residents fed up with the state's politics (Texas is a deep red state)
• Outrageous property taxes. The state has one of the highest property tax rates in the USA.
• Recent transplants are disillusioned with the state.
• Lack of affordable housing. 
  
• The heat and issues with infrastructure. Texas has it's own electrical grid which is woefully outdated, inadequate, and hanging on by a thread. 

Comment: Texas used to be a decent state a long, long time ago - during Governor Ann Richards era.  Now,  I would never consider moving there. No f-king way.  IMO the state is very unwelcoming. I was there about a year ago and I couldn't get the hell out of there fast enough. The state's politics are messed up. Governor Greg Abbott and the Republican MAGAs who control everything are so damn sleazy, corrupt, and devoid of any soul.  End of rant.
