EVENING NIGHTCAP: Chris Brown Throws A Tantrum. Jordin Sparks REALLY Wants To Replace Katy. Say Buh-Bye To Online Shopping Perks.

► American Idol 2007 winner, Jordin Sparks, is embarking on a campaign to take over judging duties for Katy Perry on American Idol.  Katy announced last week she's uncoupling from the show to concentrate on making new music. Um, no one is asking for Katy to make new music...whatever. Anyway,  Jordin went on Twitter with the enthusiasm of an intern hoping to land a full time job by posting this: Read More

“Oh hiiii @AmericanIdol—I hear a seat opened up at the judges table! I’m putting my name in the hat!” Sparks, 34, posted on X Feb. 16.

Comment: Jordin was 17 years old when she won American Idol. I think she's a very good singer and has had a successful career in the industry. IMO, I think she will be a good judge. At least better than Katy Perry. All Katy did was ogle at male contestants while acting like a kid who ate too many Smarties at summer camp.

► After 2+ decades of getting consumers hooked to online shopping like junkies to crack pipes, retailers are shutting the spigot for perks online shoppers have enjoyed like free shipping and returns.  Apparently, retailers who sell online want to squeeze even more money out of consumers because of greedy shareholders, private equity firms, and banks who are demanding higher profits.  Amazon, H&M, Zara, and J Crew are some of the many retailers who are adjusting their policies.  For example, Amazon Prime jacked up its free shipping eligibitly to $140 / per order; and other retailers are charging customers for returns. I guess Jeff Bezos needs to make a few more billions since he recently coughed up $80 million for a mansion on "Billionaires Bunker Row" in Florida.  Read More

Comment: I rarely use Amazon. The last time I ordered from them was a year ago. I could not find a part for my 15 year old lawnmower from the dealer as the manufacturer stopped making my model. I was forced to use Amazon.  I do order online from other retailers because it's convenient. But if I'm going to be charged for shipping to begin with...then a restocking fee for a return....plus a return shipping fee on top of it, then I will starting dragging my ass to brick & mortar stores.

► Difficult Brown (Govt Name: Chris Brown) is throwing a temper tantrum for being uninvited to participate in the 2024 Celebrity NBA All Stars game that took place over the weekend.  Chris went on social media to whine about the NBA and the sponsor of the event, Ruffles Potato Chips. He posted the tirade below. IMO it shows they made the right decision by giving Chris the brush-off.   Read More

“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all star game this Year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES,” the post said. “At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f—- past.”

Comment: If Chris is tired of, "living in the f****ing past" as he claims, then start behaving like a responsible adult who doesn't go around assaulting others in fits of rage. What a clueless wanker. Anyway, according to the rumor mill, Chris was uninvited because of his past and continuing shitty behavior which includes numerous arrests for assault, battery, domestic violence and other assholery behavior. His recent legal issues include a 2017 restraining order his ex-girlfriend Karrauecho Tran; in 2018 he punched a photographer; and in 2021 he was arrested for punching a woman at his house.  His dossier of shitty behavior goes back years.  Note to self: buy a bag of Ruffles Potato Chips next time I'm at the grocery store. I want to support their decision to tell this pit stain to piss off.
