He’s world famous, he’s a millionaire, and he’s also a king-sized extrovert. He also loves a joke like the next man. He is rock superstar Freddie Mercury. And the only guys who can hold a candle to him are his mates in Queen, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May. Yesterday they presented him with a cake you probably wouldn’t see on display at the local bakery. Happy birthday, Freddie, and Happy Friday, hors!

On September 7th, Pope Leo XIV will preside over his first canonization mass. Carlo Acutis, a British-born Italian who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, will be granted sainthood during this ceremony. In his short life, Carlo learned computer coding and built websites to help share his faith. For this reason, he was called "God's influencer" - how Millennial-coded indeed! The teen was praised for prioritizing his faith and being compassionate toward others while also juggling the regular responsibilities of a young teen. In order to become canonized, the Catholic church requires that a person have at least two miracles attributed to them. And Carlo has met that threshold: in 2013 the mother of a 4-year old child suffering from a pancreatic birth defect prayed to Carlo and claims that her child subsequently experienced a full recovery.
