Greetings, Manor Hors! Periodically, "The Roving Pecker" presents urgent reports from filthy esteemed guest writers. Today's report is by Caza86!

What is "Fake or Fortune?" It's a wonderful series produced by those unfortunately jagged-toothed British folk starring Fiona Bruce (an elegant, come-to-life Nancy Drew) and art expert, Phillip Mould (yeah, he's kinda sexy). They basically take your memaw's old yard-sale paintings and find out if they're the real thing or done by a slightly soused artist who maybe did a better job. We're talking Renoir, Picasso, Michelangelo, comics, animation, graffiti, even Cindy with the fake eye from your junior high. It's all there.


The show gives a mini history lesson in art, as well as an appreciation for the artist. Not just in terms of the squillion-dollar price tags that are used to launder money nowadays, either. I love art, whether it be anime, video games, paintings, drawing, etc. Give me an outlet to relax - but not just rot my brain. After a long day of just getting through it all, it's nice to press pause. Art can help facilitate my emotions; it can give me a good cry or sometimes just fill me with joy and wonder.

So please enrich yourselves in whatever way you choose, won't you? In the meantime, enjoy a show that ticks all my boxes. In America, "Fake or Fortune" can be streamed on Amazon, Peacock, Roku and Sling TV. Also, enjoy the artwork featured at the top of this post, "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer " by Bustav Klimt. It's one of the most beautiful paintings (I think) ever created.

Greetings music vixens, and welcome to another edition of Music Manor Monday, today with a little Italiano flair, va bene ? Tonight, you can find out what this means by moseying on over to Pompino Club and Winery, where DJ Li'l Cat will be playing some tunes from a very special singing principessa . Quick, which jazz luminary also worked as a featured actress in "The Godfather" and "The Godfather II?" There's only one. If you guessed Morgana King, you're right! She played Carmela Corleone, the wife of Don Vito Corleone, or Marlon Brando, in both movies. Interesting side note: the character's first name is never mentioned in either movie, and because she's played by Morgana, she gets to sing a small bit from  "Luna Mezz'o Mare" during the wedding reception scene. Wouldn't you know it'd be a dame?  It's always a dame.  I was sitting in my shabby little detective office on Sepulveda trying to figure out which creditor I could stave off when in walked trouble - trouble being a tall redhead with big knockers and a fanny you could eat lunch off of.
