OPEN POST: Very Silly Trends in a Very Serious World.

  • Loud logo overload and aggressive “dupe” flexing, turning people into ambulatory billboards for sweatshop fast fashion that trashes the planet while pretending it’s ironic
  • Endless Y2K necromancy: ultra low-rise jeans, visible thongs, unbuttoned pants, micro shorts — dragged back from the dead despite most bodies, climates, and basic dignity declining the invitation.

  • TikTok stunt cycles that gamify injury, poisoning, and arrest (NyQuil chicken, aerosol inhaling, car theft) and then act shocked when hospitals get involved
  • “Blackout” and Benadryl challenges, where teens choke or overdose for clout, rebranding actual danger as engagement
  • Cold plunges, IV drips, bone broth bars, and hyper-aesthetic wellness clubs mutating into luxury status symbols that cost more than actual medical care

  • Colostrum powders and animal-derived “liquid gold” supplements marketed as gut and skin miracles, with a marketing budget vastly outpacing the science
  • Wellness influencers hawking extreme biohacks while quietly outsourcing life to private chefs, nannies, and trainers, selling privilege as discipline
  • Aura beauty and pseudo-mystical color systems insisting your energy field requires a new shopping cart
  • Heavily filtered, AI-smoothed faces passed off as “inspo”, setting standards that do not exist on any human currently alive

  • Brands parachuting into memes and trauma-dump trends to seem “relatable,” flattening real experiences into marketing copy
  • Performative hot-take economies, where creators escalate outrage on purpose to keep the algorithm fed
  • Relentless trend surveillance, treating every outfit, hobby, and skin texture as “in” or “out” until personal taste collapses entirely
  • Barrel and balloon jeans aggressively distorting silhouettes while insisting it’s fashion, not physics

  • Extra-long denim skirts and extreme sheer maxis screaming timestamped microtrend from across the room
  • Cheap pleather aggressively rebranded as “vegan leather” and priced like craftsmanship
  • Mesh flats and transparent plastic shoes designed to look editorial and feel like a punishment
  • Over-fringed, hyper-embellished fast fashion that dates instantly and never survives a second wear
  • The infinite multiplication of niche “cores” until identity itself becomes a slideshow
  • Viral haul culture from ultra-cheap brands encouraging landfill-scale consumption disguised as fun
  • Hyper-specific ‘it’ accessories beaten into the ground in under three weeks
  • Over-layered, try-hard outfits engineered solely for TikTok, collapsing the moment real gravity and daylight intervene
  • Endless outfit copying and dupe-chasing, replacing any coherent personal aesthetic with algorithmic mimicry
  • Decorating everything beige for “serenity”, only to discover you’ve recreated the aesthetic of a witness protection program

  • Every single app adding AI whether it wants it or not
  • Smart homes getting smarter while humans get noticeably dumber
  • Genderless” fashion that somehow only fits one body type.
And everything here was a choice.
