EVENING NIGHTCAP: New HBIC At Westminster. Another Day, Another Bankruptcy. Christy Is STILL Gorgeous.
► The Westminster Kennel Show crowned a new winner. The new HBIC is Penny, a beautiful Doberman. Penny is 4 years old and hails from Reseda, California. When asked to comment on her victory, Penny said, "arf, bow-wow, grrr, bow-wow-wow." Translation: "I won bitches!". Her favorite hobbies are long walks on the beach, giving her owner the evil eye when dinner is late, and trash talking at the dog park. Wait a sec...those are MY dog's favorite past times. Penny had some fierce competition that included: Read More

Comment: Penny strutted her stuff like a seasoned pro. She waked, trotted, and sashayed like a champ who knows she's going places. Penny IS the Suzanne Sugarbaker of the dog world. If you don't know who that is...go watch Designing Women. This is the 5th time in the show's 150 year history that a Dobie has won. Coming in 2nd place was Cota, the Chessie. So, if for any reason Penny cannot fulfill her obligations as HBIC (ie. like a scandalous tryst with a Beagle or giving her trophy to the POS POTUS), Cota will step in to take over the crown and the kibble bowl. Congrats to Penny! She's gorgeous! I ♥ Dobies!

► For over a century, Eddie Bauer has been the go-to place for suburbanites whose idea of the camping is wearing flannel shirts and hiking boots as they sip their caramel macchiato half-soy-half-almond grande in their $250,000 RV. It's the end of an era. Today, the company announced they're closing their remaining North America stores (200) and sharpening their pencils to file for their 3rd (and probably last) bankruptcy. Their 20 international stores will not be impacted. Their e-commerce site will be transitioning to some group called Outdoor 5, a licensing platform. BTW, I went to
their website as I writing this...and while it's still "operational" it
didn't show any products beyond their home page. The company was founded in 1920 in Seattle by a dude named Eddie Bauer. They invented the first quilt down jacket and even patent it. I had no idea! They became well known for making outdoor clothing and gear affordable and fashionable. Read More

Comment: When I was in college many, many years ago I used to shop at Eddie Bauer. Back then, their products were still good quality and well made. Fast forward...that's no longer the case. Like many retailers, they shitted all over on what made them great in the first place. About 3-4 years ago, I ordered a sweatshirt from them. The material was thin, flimsy. I returned it. There's no way I was going to pay $60 for shitty quality. Management doesn't give a shit. The entity that controls them cares even less. No wonder they're shuttering.

Christy has made it known she intends to age naturally and gracefully - gray hair, wrinkles, and all. Looking at you Cindy, Naomi, and Linda who are morphing into Tupperware. In a series of promo ads, Christy is featured sans photoshop, filters, or retouching. That's the way she likes it. Read More
Comment: She's stunning, classy, gorgeous! Madonna should take notes.
