EVENING NIGHTCAP: Van Der Beek's IRS Troubles. Another Day, Another Arrest For Shia.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: For the next few weeks due to work schedule, I will be posting as my schedule allows. Thanks for your understanding.
►Its' being reported the late actor James Van Der Beek and his wife, Kimberly, faced a huge tax bill back in 2021 for not paying their taxes. While I don't make a practice of speaking ill of the dead and I understand how medical bills pile up, I am side eyeing what is appearing to be a case of living beyond your means and not managing personal finances. The Beeks owed the IRS about $270,000 for 2018 & 2019. As one person pointed out, to have that kind of unpaid tax bill for 2 years, his income had to be in the range of $700,000 - $1 million / per year.
As you may have heard, one month before his passing, Mr & Mrs Beeks purchased a 36-acre ranch for $4.5 million; plus they were owners of house in Beverly Hills that was generating $15,000 / month in income. Supposedly the 36-acre ranch was purchased with the help of friends thru a trust. Uh-huh. From what I know about trusts, they are set up to protect assets and provide tax advantages. My question to them: if they were experiencing financial hardships, what was their plan to pay for the maintenance, utilities, insurance, and property taxes? The tax alone is $80k annually.
The day of his passing, the Go Fund Me was set up by friends to help the family pay for medical expenses and the kids education. However, there are whispers that Kimberly is the one who actually started the Go Fund Me and quickly removed her name when she realized that it would be a bad look. YA THINK? To date, the Go Fund Me has raised $2.6 million. Read More

Comment: Like many things, Go Fund Me was originally created with good intentions. A way to help others in dire need. Sadly, because of aholes and scammers, it's gaining a reputation as a cash grab for anyone with a sob story. Looking at you Alyssa Milano (worth $15 million) and your Go Fund Me for your kid's trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Anyhoo, I have no doubt the family has a pile of medical bills & expenses to deal with. However, with the recent revelations about their finances, it's appears they were living beyond their means to maintain a lifestyle. A tale as old as time. As one person on Bored Panda wrote, “If your gonna start a GoFund for money hours after someone’s death, expect your whole financial situation to be dissected. They’ve bought this scrutiny on themselves.”

► Today is Mardi Gras and what better way for Shia LeBeef to celebrate that by getting arrested for drunken disorderly and battery. It all started when a belligerent and shirtless Shia tried to enter a bar. The doorman wasn't going to put with ANOTHER Mardi Gras ahole. He didn't let him in. Shia pulled the "don't you know who I am card" and the doorman looked at him the same way I look at a pile of dirty laundry. Shia then proceeded to go all-Godzilla in the French Quarter by terrorizing other bars and revelers. When a group of men tried to restrain him, he punched one of them. He was arrested. Now he can add another mug shot to his Wall of Shame. I hope he was wearing the hat below. Read More

Comment: When are celebrities going to learn that pulling the "don't you know who I am card" is about as effective as a broken condom? NO ONE and I mean NO ONE gives a shit about you when you pull that entitled stunt. When you're a drunken mess, that's all your are: a mess.
