OPEN POST: Engine Trouble!

I think I blew up the engine on dad's new '63 Mercury Monterey convertible while I was drag racing to Inspiration Point, do you think he'll notice? The hood isn't too burned up, is it? A good wash 'n wax should do the trick. I mean, whatever, it's not the end of the world!
