The second full moon in May is happening tonight! The blue moon will reach its peak fullness at 4:45AM EST May 31st. Following the Flower Moon that took place on May1st, this is called a micromoon, meaning that it is occurring when the moon is furthest from the Earth. It will thus appear 6-7% smaller than the average full moon.

Now for the astrologically inclined, let's discuss this moon's spiritual meaning. Full moons embody the energy of release, and this month's blue moon will feel like a turning point. Rising in the sign of Sagittarius, this moon encourages us to embrace our adventurous side by challenging our beliefs and pushing the limits of our comfort zones.
