Who is September's Shitbag of the Month?
Our first Shitbag contender for September is Ed Sheeran. The famous ginger found himself in very hot water this month after rapper Macklemore expressed his support for Palestine during his opening act on Sheeran's tour. Robert Kraft, who owns Gillette stadium, decried the rapper's statement, claiming it was deeply hurtful to the Jewish community. He and other stadium owners pressured Sheeran's team to drop Macklemore from the tour, which he did. The backlash following this decision was swift. Many celebrities rallied behind Macklemore, other supporting acts on Sheeran's tour elected to drop out, and ticket sales plummeted. Sheeran has not been handling the pushback well: he cried onstage at a concert the other week in Philly and apologized for "making mistakes." Meanwhile Macklemore donated all of the proceeds he made from Sheeran's tour to six organizations supporting Palestine, and he also set up a "Free Palestine" tour which has already sold out.
Our second shitbag is Sydney Sweeney. "Oh lord, what did she do now?!" you may be asking. Well of course her latest controversy is linked to another advertising campaign. She's gonna piss people off and make money doing it, bitch! The booby actress faced backlash this month when she starred in a
Third up is Clavicular. You may have heard this name recently, and if not, I applaud you. The 20-year old "looksmaxxing" influencer, whose real name is Braden Peters, has been charged with the rape of a teenaged girl. The incident allegedly took place at his family's Massachusetts home last year. The accuser is an 18-year influencer who alleges that Peters arranged for an Uber to take her to his home in May 2025. When she arrived, he got her drunk on vodka while they livestreamed on Twitch, and then she alleges that he raped her. His accuser also filed a civil suit against him stemming from this incident, and she also alleges that he injected her face with a non-FDA approved fat dissolving substance during a separate livestream. Peters denies the allegations and plans to "vigorously defend" himself in court.
Fourth up is Sunny Hostin. The "The View" cohost faced criticism this month when she appeared to be defending the seven men accused of gang raping a fellow Cornell student during a frat house party in 2024. The scandal has made massive headlines and many people are calling for criminal prosecution of the men. At the time of the incident, Cornell administration swept the rape under the rug, with two students being expelled and others writing essays as penance. Fucking essays. Hostin, who is a lawyer, commented on the controversy, saying that Jane Doe voluntarily ingested alcohol and drugs and agreed to have threesomes at the party. She says that under New York law, voluntary intoxication or drug use that merely impairs judgement does not legally constitute an inability to consent to sexual activity. Viewers inferred that Hostin was defending the alleged rapists, however, she went on to clarify that she was merely "leading with the law" because so many others were commenting on the situation from an emotional place. She merely wanted people to understand why the DA did not pursue a case against the alleged perpetrators back in 2024. She has since clarified that she does support the victim. Coincidentally, Hostin's 20-year old daughter is currently enrolled at Cornell University.
Our final turd is Rick Ross. The 50-year old rapper was recently arrested for battery in regards to a domestic violence incident that took place in August. The anonymous accuser claims to have been living with the rapper. She alleges that he accused her of cheating on him and he struck her multiple times. He then went on to choke her with her shirt collar and slam her into the wall. Ross denies the allegations. In a court appearance shortly following his arrest, Ross's lawyer argued that his release from jail should be expedited due to his "celebrity status," to which the judge responded, "I have no idea who you are." OUCH.
