It's 1954, and "I Love Lucy" is the #1 show on TV, but "The Jackie Gleason Show"  and  "Dragnet" are also very popular, while Loretta swirls into our homes every week on her eponymous show: Hey! I just got my learner's permit  and (since dad just got a raise) he's in a good mood so he's allowing me to take the Pontiac Chieftain for a spin around town, but I don't DARE go over 5 MPH! And what do you know, I just turned on the radio and this new hit by The Chordettes is playing: So hop in, and tell me all about that dreamy guy in your Geography class ( and the dreamy teacher, too )--after all, it's Open Post, darlings! Everyone thinks that being a superstar (and 20th Century Fox's top female draw of ALL TIME--yes, I'm talking to you, Darryl Zanuck!) means that life is all caviar and champagne in buckets, but the reality is far more grim: the paparazzi have something new called "telephoto lenses" and they can catch us at our absolute worst.  Take this picture, for example: I was innocently attending to nature when Ron Galella stood up on tiptoe and shot this photo through my bathroom window. Despite my complete lack of makeup, at least I was adequately clad for the task. The moral of this story?
