Saw this beauty the other day and it looks like a '70 Grand Prix to me. In 1970 there was a ton of great movies, including the smash hit that spawned one of the best TV shows in history, M*A*S*H, and while watching the show recently I thought, "How great was the casting of Loretta Swit as Margaret Houlihan?" She was a foxy, bleached-blond broad with a big mouth, just like Sally Kellerman in the original Robert Altman movie, plus she was always screaming at someone. My little gayling self was in love with her. Lots of great music that year, too. Bread had a big hit with "Make It With You." They're criminally under-rated IMO, excellent musicians with a big catalogue of great songs. When Covid happened, some people began to realize how much they’d like to have a little greenery inside their house, since they were no longer able to go outside and ignore them on their walks because of lockdown. A lot of people experimented and shared their experiences online. This is a distilled version of that. THE WHAT: Just wood chips or pine bark and perlite - we’ll refer to this combination as substrate from hereon. You can add or mix coconut chips, pine bark, fern fibre, your old wooden sculptures or grandma’s bones but the basics are wood chips (like those for orchids) and perlite. Credit: Warner Bros Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have been making the rounds to promote the release of Practical Magic 2 . And like any good witch movie, of course it has a kitty cat!  In an interview with BBC, Kidman said that she has always been a cat person. She had one cat named Priscilla as a kid and another she fondly named Pinkle Purr. Aww.  She also confirmed that Sandra Bullock cast the cat in the header pic who plays Kidman's familiar in the movie, "purely for vanity choices.....that cat was much more attractive than the cat you wanted" Bullock joked.   You've heard of the Boston Molasses Disaster of 1919, but there's a new disaster in town: the Quebec Mac & Cheese Powder Disaster of 2026! This Friday, a truck travelling along Route 32 in Brossard, QC was overturned, spilling cheese powder all over the ground. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and luckily no one else was hurt in the crash. Now you Peckers know I love me a bowl of Kraft Dinner. Paired with cut-up hot dogs?! Michelin-starred meal right there. If I lived closer to this crash I'm not ashamed to say I would have scooped up some free powder. I am better than no man! Let's hope the driver is doing OK and there won't be a mac and cheese powder shortage.  Tabar-Mac, amirite!
