I love driving. It's the best way to clear my mind after a busy day at work. Radio on, windows rolled down, the wind rustling through my long luxurious locks late at night. "Sara" by Fleetwood Mac is a summer song, "Boys Of Summer" (of course) and "Ventura Highway" by America, too.  "Ventura Highway, in the suuuunshine, where the days are longer, the nights are stronger, than mooooonshine..." This isn't Ventura Highway, but I drove down to the beach earlier today, and it works for me. But you know what the most summer'y song I've ever heard is? It's this one, and I always seem to hear it when I'm driving and the windows are rolled down and it's breezy and warm, usually at dusk or after dark. It's somber and thoughtful and sad, but I love it so much (believe it or not, even more than "Boys of Summer") so this is my official pick. I chose this particular version bc I don't know what anyone in that band ...

He’s world famous, he’s a millionaire, and he’s also a king-sized extrovert. He also loves a joke like the next man. He is rock superstar Freddie Mercury. And the only guys who can hold a candle to him are his mates in Queen, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May. Yesterday they presented him with a cake you probably wouldn’t see on display at the local bakery. Happy birthday, Freddie, and Happy Friday, hors!
