EVENING NIGHTCAP: Is Tara Backpeddling? I Disagree With Dame Judi. Simone's Surgeries & Advice Confuse Me.

 

► About 2 weeks ago, Tara Reid's claimed that her drink was spiked by someone at a hotel bar in Rosemont, IL (a Chicago suburb). Tara ended up being carted away in a stretcher and taken to the hospital to undergo a bunch of test. Scary stuff. The cops are still on the booze clues case and waiting for test results. In the meantime, police reviewed surveillance videos and found no evidence that a Spanish fly was slipped into her drink. Video showed the actress with drink and the bartender placing a napkin over it (standard practice) when she stepped out to smoke a ciggie. While she was outside, the video showed the drink where she left it at the bar with the napkin on top and no one messing with it. Anyhoo, Tara made some comments yesterday that are giving off a whiff of back peddling. She said the media twisted her words and that she's being bullied and judged for something she doesn't recall.  Read More

 "I’ve been honest about the fact that I don’t remember anything after my first drink,” the “American Pie” star told Page Six in a statement Monday. “All I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there.”

Comment: An interesting twist to all this is Tara's rep, who said the actress filed a police report immediately after it happened. However, Tara ended up filing it 2 days later. We'll have to wait until the hospital tests are released and the cops finish their investigation. Right now the cops are saying all the videos they've reviewed show no evidence to support her claim. 

I have to wonder if Tara took medication or something beforehand (and forgot) and it ended up reacting with booze, causing her to pass out. Another thing: I found her new choice of words, "I may have been drugged" interesting. Two weeks ago she was insisting she was drugged and was pointing the finger at a YouTuber she met. He's denied it and video did not show him or anyone else tampering with her hooch. The entire thing is a mess. I hope she's not pulling a Jussie Smollett. I wish her well. 

► Retired actress Dame Judi Dench (91) is causing quite the uproar with comments she recently made about convicted POS Harvey Weinstein and disgraced actor Kevin Spacey. During an interview with Radio Times, Dame Judi mentioned that it's time for people to forgive & forget and let bygones be bygones. Um, yea, sure Judi. Tell that to the 80+ victims.  While Dame Judi was horrified and stood by the victims when revelations about Weinstein's behavior were finally made public in 2017, she now feels the world should forgive him. Read More

 “I knew Harvey and I knew him well and worked with him, and I had none of that experience—very fortunately for me,” Dench, 91, told the Radio Times in an interview published Dec. 7. “I imagine he's done his time. I don't know, to me it's personal—forgiveness.” The interviewer noted that Dench—who broached the subject of forgiveness for the former Hollywood executive because of her Quaker faith—found the subject of Weinstein “clearly very painful.”

She then went on to say this about Kevin Spacey:

“Kevin has been exonerated and I hear from Kevin, we text,” she recently told The Radio Times of Spacey, who was acquitted of sexual assault charges in a U.K. criminal trial in 2023."

Comment: I think old age is making Judi stupid  I cannot believe she wants the world to forgive Weinstein for what he did and that "he's served his time". Nope! Weinstein is a predator who got away with his degenerate behavior for decades. He has never apologized to the victims. The only person who spoke the truth about him was Courtney Love. When she sounded the alarm years before it all came out, she was waved off by the Hollywood machine as a nut job. So excuse me Dame Judi if I tell you in the nicest way to f-off with your "let's forgive him" sentiments.
 

► US gymnast and Olympic champ Simone Biles (27) has been on a media tour to talk about the plastic surgery she's had. She proudly admitted she got breast implants, botox, lower blepharoplasty, and earlobe repair. I don't think she's ruling out additional tweaks in the future. When asked why she's underwent these procedures she indicated it was to build self confidence. Um, okay.  Simone is a world class athlete and G.O.A.T.  I would think she would have accumulated a truck load of self confidence along the way. "Simone has served as a role model for young girls and she wants to teach the younger generation that there is empowerment in having "choices," and stated: "I also think it shows young girls that they have the right to their own choices, whatever they are, and that's no shame added as well…As long as you love yourself, that's really all that matters."

Comment:  On the one hand, Simone is telling young girls there's no shame in being who you are as long as "you love yourself". But then she opts to undergo unnecessary cosmetic procedures because she doesn't feel she looks her best. Huh? She didn't need those surgeries. Who is she trying to impress? She was already a very attractive and super adorable woman. Her actions contradict her words. She needs to think about the mixed messages she's sending to impressionable young girls. IMO Simone has fallen into the trap of unattainable beauty standards that have been marketed to the public. Real beauty is someone with intellect, a good sense of humour, and a strong sense of  identity that radiates confidence to live life as a productive, healthy, well-adjusted individual.
