Who is November's Shitbag of the Month?

Our first shitbag of November is Mike Smith, aka. Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. The Canadian actor was charged with sexual assault this month in relation to an incident from 2017. Specific details of the alleged assault have not been revealed, but sources have claimed that Smith has a colourful history of sexually inappropriate behaviour. Smith's TPB co-star, Lucy DeCoutere, resigned from the show in 2016 after a domestic battery incident with Smith. The charges were later dropped due to "insufficient evidence." Smith will appear in court in December.

Second up we have Shay Mitchell. The Pretty Little Liars star faced backlash this month when she announced the launch of Rini, a skincare line for children. For now, the line includes sheet masks made for "tiny faces," both for everyday use and for hydration. Mitchell claims the brand is "where skincare meets play, a world where kids can dream, transform and explore with dermatologist-tested products parents trust." Some of these products are available for children as young as three. People were naturally outraged by the brand, calling it dystopian and saying that it is paving the way for future adults with serious body image problems.

Third up is Scarlett Johansson. Back in 2019, the actor voiced her support of Woody Allen after he was widely ostracized amid allegations of sexual assault toward his daughter, Dylan Farrow. Johansson, who has starred in three of Allen's films, said, "I love Woody. I believe him, and I would work with him any time." While she faced some online backlash for her comments, her career has otherwise remained unaffected by her statements. In November, Johansson felt the need to reiterate her support for Allen, saying that it's "important to have integrity and stand up for what you believe in." Um, okay.

Our fourth contender is Kevin Spacey. The disgraced actor hasn't made many headlines since he was accused by actor Anthony Rapp of sexual assault. This led to a slew of other accusations against Spacey, leading to his removal from House of Cards. Spacey recently said in an interview that he has sold his Baltimore home claiming that he has been in massive debt since his career took a nosedive. "I literally have no home," Spacey is quoted as saying. He said he's living out of hotels and Air BnBs, going "where the work is." So naturally he was criticized for claiming to be homeless when, in fact, he is not. Spacey has since backpedaled, saying that he has been working nonstop this year and he knows many people are living in the streets and that "his heart goes out to them."

Our last Shitbags are Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Wicked: For Good was released this month and the pair have once again been attending countless premieres and interviews to promote it. It seems like every time you turn around there's a new clip of them clinging to each other or getting emotional over seemingly harmless questions. They pulled the same co-dependent nonsense last year and it's all getting to be a bit too much. Let's hope the cycle winds down for good soon.
