Another Allegation of Shit Bag Behavior Against Danny Elfman

Image

Founder of 1980's band Oingo Boing and Oscar nominated composer, Danny Elfman, is in deep shit. A second woman has come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse against him. Late last week, a 47 year old woman (referred to as Jane Doe XX in court documents) alleged that Elfman behaved like a shit bag from 1997 - 2002.  According to the complaint, the victim met Elfman at a party in 1997 (she was 21 and he was 47at the time). Over the next 5 years when they worked together, Elfman would parade nekkid during their work sessions because "it was the only way he could work, be creative, and successful".  *WTF?...what a freaking weirdo.* The victim also stated that Elfman invited her to stay at his California home while she was apartment hunting during 1998. During h...

Millennials Can't Communicate With Gen Z (oh the irony!): A Commentary

Image
I ran across an article that had me chuckling about Millennials and their frustration with Gen Z.   Millennials, the generation who grew up with social media and turned self-promotion into a cottage industry. Their admiration and idolization of social media influencers made it acceptable for self-absorbed behavior to be the norm.   In an ironic twist, Millennials are now becoming frustrated in their inability to relate to Gen Z – a generation heavily influenced by Millennials’ behavior. Millenials are turning to Tik Tok to air their grievances and to seek help in figuring out how to understand and communicate with Gen Z – especially their slang. They feel disconnected from Gen Z who, in my opinion, took their cues from Millennials to further establish the trend of using pompous language to describe everyday things. Why do they do this? To give things a fashionable spin to make it IG or Pintrest worthy. For example: Gen Z Millennial ...

A Parade Of Celebs At The Clooney Foundation Awards

Image
Andra Day, George Clooney, and Alicia Keys at Albie Awards.  Photo: Neil Rasmus / BFA //Vogue The Clooney Foundation recently hosted its 2nd annual Albie Awards. The award is named after anti-apartheid hero Justice Albie Sachs. According to the Clooney's Foundation's website:  "The Albie Awards were created to shine a protective spotlight on courageous justice defenders who are at risk - sending a message to those who abuse human rights that the world is watching." What better way to shine the spotlight on those risking their lives for having the courage to speak up about human rights atrocities than by throwing a glitzy bash. The event was attended by a parade of A-listers wearing gowns and tuxedos whose value could probably feed a small impoverished nation. I'm always leery of foundations because so many of them are created as tax shelters for their founders. Who can blame them when tax laws have so many loopholes. And before anyone says anything, I know Amal ...

Lego Ditches Plans To Use Recycled Plastic: A Commentary

Image
Photo: Freebie Supply   After deliberation, experimentation, and whatever the heck else the company did, Lego has abandoned plans to make its bricks out of recycled plastic. This contradicts their pledge to only use recycled materials by 2032. The company said it spent years testing the process to make their bricks from PET recycled plastic but they decided "screw it, we're quitting this shit and our pledge" for numerous reasons. PET plastic is what's used to make water bottles, soda bottles, containers, and a bunch of other stuff. As we all know, plastic water bottles are one of the biggest culprits to clogging up landfills and pollution, especially in the ocean where those damn things can be found floating in the most obscure places. According to National Geographic, half of all plastic pollution is submerged below the ocean surface.  Lego officials said they discovered that making the bricks from used plastic bottles and other plastic materials would require the c...

Russell Brand Is Accussed Of Assault. And Being A Shit Bag.

Image
Photo: London Entertainment/Shutterstock / Daily Mail The unfunny pile of dung known as Russell Brand is being accused by four women of sexual assault, abuse and other salacious behavior. The victims claim the incidents occurred between 2006 - 2013. Russell released a video in which he vehemently denies the accusations which were brought to his attention by two media outlets. In the video, he said, “I’ve received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks. But amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”  The video he made is posted below, from his You Tube channel.  It was reported The Times Sunday and Channel 4 Dispatches teamed up in a joint report to invest the allegations in a documentary. The documentary is scheduled to air over the weekend...
