Who is October's Shitbag of the Month?

Our first contender this month is Garth Brooks. Bitch got sued this month by an anonymous former makeup artist and hairstylist claiming to have been sexually assaulted by Brooks. The woman was originally hired to work for Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, back in 1999 and then was hired to work with Brooks in 2017. In addition to sexual assault and battery, the plaintiff is also stating that Brooks would repeatedly expose himself to her, share sexual fantasies with her, and also send her explicit text messages. Brooks has submitted a countersuit stating that his accuser sent him a letter claiming she planned to sue him for sexual assault after he declined her request for salaried employment and medical benefits. How greedy!

Keeping up with the sexual assault theme we have going on, Kanye West once again finds himself on the Shitbag of the Month poll. The disgraced rapper has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. Similarly to Garth Brooks, Kanye is accusing Pisciotta of blackmail and extortion after she demanded an inflated salary. He also claims she consistently used sexual coercion to demand more money and material items. Pisciotta claims she was invited to none other than Diddy's recording studio with Kanye and alleges she was given a drink laced with something that left her unconscious. When she awoke the next day she claims she has no memory of what happened at the studio.

Third on our list is sneaky little weasel Harvey Levin from TMZ. Earlier this month, 31-year old singer Liam Payne was found dead after falling from his balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires. TMZ was quick to share the news and in their article they posted cropped photos of the singer's lifeless body taken mere moments after his death. After facing much criticism, TMZ removed the images. Levin is infamous for his shameless, ghoulish reporting over the past few decades and this is just the latest in a long line of inappropriate behaviour.

Fourth up is Abercrombie & Fitch's former CEO, Mike Jeffries. The disgraced businessman was charged with 16 federal charges including sex trafficking and international prostitution. Breon Peace, US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, claims that Jeffries used his power and influence to traffic men for his own sexual pleasure and that of his romantic partner, Matthew Smith between 2008 and 2015. Jeffries was released on $10 million bond and is under house arrest until the court proceedings. Well at least that means he can't go and get more awful plastic surgery. Small blessings.

Last up is Oprah. The retired talk show mogul is made our shortlist before and now she's here because of her very own list of her favourite things. Further fueling the late stages of capitalist hell we find ourselves in, Oprah makes a list each year of things she supposedly buys for her friends and family. And sure, she's probably getting a healthy kickback for shilling this crap from her friend Jeff Bezos, but that's a minor detail! This year she added Beats headphones that were designed in partnership with Kim Kardashian. The headphones come in neutral shades like beige and brown, because Kardashian "wants to break away from the idea that headphones have to be colorful to make a statement." Uh, okay. She probably uses them to listen to her massive billboard hit, Jam. Never forget!
