Who is December's Shitbag of the Month?

 Welcome, Peckers, to our final Shitbag of the Month poll! Below are all of December's contenders. 

First up is (A), Jay-Z. Beyonce's husband was accused of raping a 13-year old girl in 2000 alongside fellow Shitbag Diddy. The anonymous accuser claims that the assault happened after she was driven to an MTV Awards after-party. The rapper released a lengthy and admittedly bizarre statement shortly after the news broke, classing these claims as "idiotic" and saying he is a "young man who made it out of the project in Brooklyn." He has asked that the plaintiff reveal her name but the judge in this case has ruled that Jane Doe will remain anonymous for the time being.

Second up we have (B), the McDonald's employee who ratted out identified Luigi Mangione as the killer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. NYDP announced a reward for any tips leading to the conviction of Thompson's killer, and the anonymous employee quickly came forward to say that Mangione had been spotted at the Altoona, PA McDonald's shortly before the killing. Now naturally we understand that killing someone is wrong, but public opinion has favoured Mangione for his actions due to the callousness and inhumanity of companies like United Healthcare.

Third up is (C) or everyone involved in the It Ends with Us saga. The movie was released this summer and was fraught with drama from the start. Fans noticed that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the two stars of the film (and the former of whom was the movie's director) did not do any press together prior to the release and they appeared to have very different marketing approaches. Baldoni did little press and appeared quite separated from the rest of the film's stars, and Lively was criticized for taking too lighthearted an approach in her interviews considering the storyline is about an abusive relationship. Around this time, an old clip of Lively resurfaced where she was incredibly rude to an interviewer. Lively was raked over the coals in the press and she laid low in the months after this incident. This month, Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni, claiming his PR firm partook in a vicious campaign to tarnish her reputation. Now they're in a slapping match and it is getting ugly.

Our fourth contender is (D), Air Canada! The airline outraged Canadians when they announced that, starting January 1st, they'd be charging $35 for passengers to bring a carry-on bag and $50 for an additional bag! We know airlines are no strangers to shitbag behaviour, in fact they're practically pioneers of it. But this is a frustrating new low for Air Canada. Booo!

Our last Shitbag is (E), Ellen Degeneres. The cancelled comedian has kept a relatively low profile since being exposed as a big meanie to her staff. Degeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, abruptly moved to the UK this December. This move comes as a surprise to most since the pair allegedly invested tons of money and time turning their Montecito, CA mansion into what it is today. While it's been alleged that the move was a reaction to Dump getting re-elected, insiders are alleging that this was an attempt on Ellen's part to maintain control over her wife by isolating her from Hollywood and, as a result, her career prospects. It has been alleged that the pair's marriage is "in terrible shape" behind the scenes. Whatever you believe, I can't imagine living with that nightmare 24/7 so my thoughts and prayers are with Portia.

  Canuck Peckers can certainly recognize this image. Usually you'd see these candies gathering dust at your local corner store or perhaps in an elder relative's home. Or MINE, because I have excellent taste. The Cherry Blossom was originally created in the 1890s by Lowney Company's Canadian subsidiary. The candy has changed hands a few times and was eventually acquired by Hershey Canada in the 1980s. Sickeningly sweet and impossible to eat without getting sticky hands, the candy secured its place in the hearts (and visceral fat) of Canadians over the past 135 years. But Hershey Canada made the sad announcement this week that they are discontinuing production of this beautiful, underrated confectionary. Many are already joking that you will still see these candies in shops for years to come as they never really seem to die. Regardless, I am sad to see them go. Rest in Peace! At the root of what we Americans are experiencing is this extremist view of American Exceptionalism and how the Right has taken this belief and extended it to include what they believe is their purpose and duty.
