Who is September's Shitbag of the Month?
Our first Shitbag contender is Gary Busey. The 81-year old actor was sentenced to two years' probation on September 19th for sexual assault. Busey was arrested in 2022 following an appearance he made at horror convention "Monster Mania" during which it is alleged that he groped three separate women during an autograph signing meet-and-greet. He originally denied any wrongdoing but then pled guilty to the charges back in July. In addition to the criminal charges, Busey is also facing a civil suit from two of the victims from this incident.
Next up is Brad Pitt. After trying to fend off a deposition, the actor is finally being dragged to court for a lawsuit filed against his Make it Right foundation. Pitt originally set up the foundation in 2007 to help build homes for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina after the storm decimated areas of New Orleans, killing over 1,300 people. While Pitt's heart may have been in the right place, the lawsuit alleges that the Foundation cut many corners and built over 100 defective homes, resulting in millions of dollars in required repairs. Pitt has fought tooth and nail to avoid testifying in the suit, but it appears he's finally going to have to appear in court after being named directly several times by the plaintiffs' legal team.
Third up is Sarah Ferguson. The Duchess of York was fired from a children's hospice this month after the true extent of her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein was uncovered. Back in 2011, Fergie publicly denounced Epstein and his extensive abuse during an interview, only to turn around and send Epstein emails thanking him for being a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend" to her and her family. This was revealed in Andrew Lownie's new book, Entitled. The book also alleges that Fergie and her ex-husband, Prince Pedo, borrowed $2.5million from Epstein as opposed to the $18,500 the pair had admitted to accepting.
Fourth on our list is Keith Urban. The 57-year old singer and flatiron abuser split from Nicole Kidman this month. Rumours have been swirling that Kidman was blindsided by the end of their 19-year long marriage, and it's now being alleged that Urban was carrying on an affair with the 25-year old guitarist in his band, Maggie Baugh. It's been alleged that Kidman was hoping to work on the pair's relationship, but insiders claim that Urban has done a "complete 180" and it seems like a switch has gone off in his to awaken the "vitriol" he has for his estranged wife. Oh, Keith. Tale as old as time.
Our last Shitbag contender is a collective of turds. This month a list of over 27 North American comedians were listed as those among the group performing at this year's Riyadh Comedy Festival. Notable names include Pete Davidson, Bill Burr, Kevin Hart, Dave Chapelle and Tom Segura, among many others. The comedians are alleged to have been paid millions to perform at the event, which takes place in a country notorious for limiting freedom of expression when it comes to the arts (to put it very lightly). Not only is Saudi Arabia against LGBTQIA+, it also operates under Sharia law, which makes one wonder about the women performing at this event (Whitney Cummings being one of the bigger names). Outraged fans have rightfully criticized the comedians for accepting blood money to perform. Many have remained tightlipped about their hypocrisy, but Bill Burr has expressed his anger at the blowback, calling his critics "sanctimonious and phoney." Sure, Jan!
