EVENING NIGHTCAP: Holiday Queen Is Dethroned. My RF Photo Is Better. Brooklyn Escalates Feud.
► The anointed holiday queen, Mariah Carey, has been dethroned by Wham. The duo's 1984 holiday song, "Last Christmas" sashayed up to Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas" waging its finger and told it "Now you know who I am. Have a seat". For several years, Wham's song has been slowly sleighing towards the #1 spot. And lo and behold, it's a Festivus Miracle! It finally reached #1 on Billboard. Wham co-founder, Andrew Rigley, had this to say: Read More
"This is a remarkable moment for me, (Wham!), (George Michael) and (Sony Music UK), to learn that 'Last Christmas' is currently the world's favorite song," Wham! bandmember Andrew Ridgeley wrote in a Dec. 17 Instagram post. "(It) is the best Christmas gift we and George could ever have wished for."

Comment: I'm glad Wham's song finally overtook Mariah. I much rather hear the soothing vocals of George Michael than Mariah. Since we're on the subject of holiday songs, my all time favorite is "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses. Love that song! Great lyrics, catchy tune, awesome opening guitar and bass riff. Perfect. The song doesn't get the love it deserves. Now excuse me while I crank it on my headphones.
►Late last week Prince Wills & Princess Cate uploaded their holiday card. And in keeping with past theme of no royal f**ks to give, they once again posed for the Eddie Bauer catalog cover. Sitting in a field of daffodils and grinning like they were vying for a Sears Portrait Studio modeling contract, the picture fails to give the holiday vibes the public wanted. Come on, RF, get into the holiday spirit! I took the liberty of wasting 5 minutes and found the perfect RF photo. And, to represent them like a normal dysfunctional family, I made an edit cause I'm petty like that. See below. Read More

Comment: I prefer my RF photo. It's festive and shows off what the holidays are really about. Ugly sweaters: Check. Corgies: Check. Phony smiles: Check. Temu Edward crossed out: Check.

► The holidays tend to do one of 2 things: bring families together OR escalate feuds. Brooklyn Beckham, the failed soccer player, model, photographer, and chef, decided to take the latter. He has blocked on SM his parents (Victoria & David) and his 2 brothers. He hasn't blocked his sister, Harper (14) because she's not on social media. The tabloids incorrectly reported that it was his parents that blocked Brooklyn. However, Cruz Beckham corrected the world by showing the receipt and saying it was Brooklyn who did the blocking with no reason given. Brooklyn has been feuding with his family over what some suspect is an issue his gazillionaire heiress wife, Nicola, has with the Beckham's. Read More

Comment: Who knows what the hell is going on. IMO, I suspect Brooklyn is doing whatever he has to do to keep Nicola happy and his life of leisure going. He's jumped from one failed endeavor to another. While I recognize it must be difficult to live in the shadow of famous parents, he strikes me as the type who was destined to latch on to someone so as to coast through life. I suspect Nicola knows this. Or, maybe the feud is a ruse for headlines.
