However things turns out, it's obvious - happily so - that all of us ‘Murican Peckers are making sure to vote in the midterms. Why? Because we remember how close elections can be, like with Dubyuh v. Gore and Clinton v. Trash , not to mention Harris v. Trash II: Electric Boogaloo . Will the Democrats set things right if they secure both Houses? I know what you're thinking (if you're 'Murican), and it might have to do with the outcome of certain polling and balloting or efforts to plebiscite (ten dollar word, amirite?) come the next few days. I know what else you're thinking: how can you possibly get excited about a fabulous Dame at a time like this? But DJ Li'l Scratch urges you to fight against such notions, for this is precisely time we should all be celebrating everything that is good and glamorous, and also brassy and bold and daaaaaamn. So tonight, you and yours are cordially invited to "Pork Steeple!", the Manor's after-hours bar and gourmet sandwich porkery, where DJ L'il Scratch will be spinning tunes from Wales' finest contribution to hot-cha!, jazz hands!  and wowza! Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the one, the only... ...Dame Shirley Bassey. There is no other. If you know her, and I bet'cha you do, you probably first think of her indelible tunes for three, count ...

Harcourt Productions   This is Halloween! This is maybe the best movie to watch on Halloween, and it's an indie director's labour of love that originally tanked but ultimately became a huge cult hit.  This is Carnival of Souls.  Yes, the whole thing. A young woman, none too bright a bulb at that, is caught in a car accident. Upending her life, she moves to a new town and attempts to begin again, but the townspeople are strange and unfriendly. She's drawn to a weird carnival, where a bizarre man stalks her, but she cannot stay away.  Yeah, not too bright. On paper or pixels, it doesn't read like much, but trust...it's a classic for a reason.    Harcourt Productions
