OPEN POST: The Sunday Roast featuring The House That Dripped Blood

This 1971 classic was produced by Amicus Films, a studio which specialized in horror anthologies like this one, each featuring 4 stories linked by a framing device. In this case, it's the house itself, and the sad and horrific histories of its ill-fated tenants.
As with many Amicus films, this one has a fabulous cast including Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Ingrid Pitt, the gorgeous Polish actress who escaped from the Nazis to make a new life in England. Each story is unique in tone, with the last having been intended as a comedy. When the money men watched the rough cut, they apparently flipped out and demanded it be re-cut as a drama, which sadly doesn't quite work. At least they kept the cute little jab he took at Lee in the dialogue (they were pals offstage).
