EVENING NIGHTCAP: Margaret Doesn't Like Ellen. Puppies & Prince Willie's BD. Banner For Bezos/Sanchez Wedding.

► During an appearance on the Kelly Mantle Show, comedian Margaret Cho disclosed that every time she appeared on The Ellen Show, the mean Keebler elf (Govt Name: Ellen DeGeneres) would act like they never met. What did Margaret expect? Ellen wasn't acting. Ellen is the new Leona Helmsley.

If you don' know who that is, she was a horrible bitch who married Harry Helmsley, a NYC gazillionaire real estate and hotel developer. Leona managed his properties with fear. She famously said, "only the little people pay taxes". In 1989 she went to prison for tax evasion and corruption. I recommend watching the made for TV movie starring the late Suzanne Pleshette who did an A+ job depicting Leona. Anyhoo, Margaret gurgled out:

 “Ellen was really weird and not nice to me for most of my career,” Cho said. “I opened for her in the 1980s, when she was a headliner in comedy clubs, way before her big fame. Later, when I would do her talk show in the 2000s, she acted like we just met. And I’m like, ‘Bitch, what?’ That’s weird. We go way back. It’s so creepy and weird,” the Grammy and Emmy nominee joked.

This isn't the first time Margaret has aired grievances about the Queen of Mean. Back in 2020, she said she was, "scared of Ellen and everyone should be scared of Ellen". I have a question for Margaret: why did you keep appearing in her show? Read More

Comment: I never liked Ellen nor did I think she was funny even in her early days of stand up. Her  TV show waaaay back in the 1990s was lame and boring. It's a mystery why she was ever given a talk show in the first place. IMO, she wasn't a good host and seemed to get a twisted pleasure out of humiliating guests with her pranks. Can you imagine what it must have been liked to work for Ellen? I have this image that as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, she would turn into a deranged leprechaun terrorizing employees. No wonder they spoke up and cancelled her.

► It's a slow news days, so let us take a moment to feel old by celebrating Prince William's 43rd birthday.  To mark the occasion, Princess Catherine shared a BD greeting on IG. She uploaded two photos. One shows him posing with their dog, Orla (in the background) and her cute puppies. The photo resembles a promo ad for the 2025 reboot of Dr. Quinn: Veterinarian Edition. In the other, Prince Willie is gazing into the horizon posing for the cover of business casual wear for Lands End catalog.  Read More 

Comment: The puppies are cute! That's my say something nice for the day. I vote for the RF to make them the heirs to the throne. They're more likeable, cute, and won't deplete taxpayer coffers with  wanton demands. BTW, in case you're wondering, Temu Edward didn't wish him happy BD. He and Walmart Wallis were busy writing entries in their Burn Book.

►Venice is the site for the upcoming nuptials of Gollum (Govt Name: Jeff Bezos) and the flotation device known as Lauren Sanchez. The citizens of Venice are fed up not only with the tourists overrunning their city and treating it like an amusement park but with Gollum and his social climbing concubine taking over it for their wedding. The few citizens that actually live in Venice have been protesting the upcoming wedding and the expenses the city will incur to accommodate these 2 egomaniacs and their guests. Today a huge banner was unfurled on St. Mark's Square in Venice that had me cackling.  Read More

Comment: It's been reported that Bezos and Sanchez have made contributions to several charities in Venice. They can call it "donations" but I'm calling it what it is: payoffs. They don't do anything for altruistic reasons. In 2023, Bezos and She-Hulk spent $42 million to bury a 500 ft tall (152 m) clock in the West Texas desert that would last 10,000 years.  I wrote about it back in 2023 when they did the cringe Vogue photo shoot. I'm sure they made a "donation" to Anna Wintour for it.

In 1982, I was a poor, yet simple, boy of 8 or 9, and I watched everything. We had 3 networks and 2 PBS stations, as well as 2 local stations that showed bowling, farm reports and some sort of stupid puppet show - as well as a really awesome show on Saturday nights that had old black-and-white, scary (but not really scary) movies. "Fantasies" was not among those, though it was a major, prime-time network movie, and it concerned the stars of "a very sexy soap opera" being murdered by a psycho stalker killer, the hook being that it starred ACTUAL SOAP OPERA STARS (!), the main one being the delightful Miss Robin Mattson from "General Hospital" and that dude from "All My Children" who's most famous for the commercial in which he muttered those immortal words, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV."
